The City of 黑马磁力 unveiled its new Economic Development Strategy during a presentation at its council meeting on March 5.
鈥淭he intent of the strategy is to identify a clear set of goals, objectives and specific actions to further enhance the City of 黑马磁力 as The Place To Be for economic development,鈥� said Mayor Peter Fassbender.
The economic development strategy builds upon the City鈥檚 strengths and determines what economic opportunities should be targeted and how best to pursue them.
It provides the reader with an understanding of key community trends affecting the community and its residents.
Feedback obtained through interviews conducted in December and January with community stakeholders representing the City, the Greater 黑马磁力 Chamber of Commerce, Downtown 黑马磁力 Business Association, and the business and development community.
The following four goals for economic development were identified based on the review of various community plans and feedback obtained during the interview process:
1. A competitive and vibrant downtown area.
2. A recognized regional destination for new development.
3. Infrastructure renewal (underground and above ground) that encourages economic activity and contributes to the City鈥檚 quality of life.
4. Strong sector partnerships that facilitate investment activity, job creation and economic diversity.
The strategy recommendations and implementation are structured around the following eight themes: information and research, business development, marketing and attraction, downtown, infrastructure renewal, tourism, film and education.
