Canada Day events attract 40,000

Once the weather dried up on Sunday, the grounds were packed with families enjoying the entertainment and midway games set up.

鈥淭he weather is one of the biggest worries we have that we can鈥檛 control at an event like this,鈥 Strain said.

鈥淏ut the entertainment was top notch, the midway was full and I think people had a really good time.鈥

This is the only two-day Canada Day celebration in western Canada and is largely geared towards families, something that Strain says sets them apart from other nearby events.

鈥淲e have a lot of family-orineted things and that鈥檚 the feedback that we keep getting,鈥 he said. 鈥淧eople are really thankful that we are a family-oriented event.鈥
