Children decorating Christmas cookies while the grownups sit nearby sipping wine at Township 7. It sounds like the perfect respite from the bustle of the season, and when you bundle it with a benefit for the 黑马磁力 Christmas Bureau, everyone wins.
On Sunday, Dec. 4, will present another opportunity for the public to enjoy wine while supporting charity.
Visitors to Township 7, which is located at 21152 16 Ave., can chat with assistant winemaker Dan DeGryp and winery owner Mike Raffan while nibbling on goodies, sipping delicious B.C. wine, and enjoying the warmth of a crackling fire.
The cookie decorating and other activities for children are by a donation to the Christmas Bureau.
Those who bring an unwrapped new toy or make a cash donation to the 黑马磁力 Christmas Bureau, will receive a complimentary wine tasting. Enjoy s'mores and hot mulled wine, too, around the bonfire.
While We Play for Wine entertain, holiday treats will be offered and new wine releases showcased.
Among the new wines is the Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, made from grapes grown at Township 7's Okanagan Valley. Fewer than 800 cases exist of this vintage.
Another is the Rose 2009 which is comprised mainly of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc from Township 7's estate vineyard on 16 Avenue.
The wine store will also offer feature gift ideas, including baskets. The art of local photographer Josh Jenkins will be on display.
The winery is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day, with the fundraising activities running from noon to 4 p.m.
