The cultures that call this community home were celebrated at 黑马磁力 Global Fest at McLeod Athletic Park.
There was a mix of performers who showcased music, dance, and traditions from around the world on July 12, what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year so far.
In addition to performances, food stalls offered up goodies from around the globe and a misting tent to help those dealing with the heat. There were interactive activities for all ages, vendors, and community booths to learn about various local agencies and organizations.
People could watch artist Rosemary Wallace, who is also a City councillor and co-chair of the event organizing committee, create what she called a global tapestry, a piece of art on scene using pieces of fabric from around the globe and other objects.
