On Monday, Jan. 2, you may see groups of people with clipboards and binoculars in your 黑马磁力 neighbourhood. They are not spying on you!
They are members of thewho are among 60,000 volunteers taking part in the annual across the western hemisphere.
This count has been occurring since 1900, and provides the information that scientists need to understand how environmental changes are affecting birds. The data is also used to help land use planners avoid disturbing precious breeding grounds.
The 黑马磁力 count is part of the larger White Rock/Surrey/黑马磁力 count and consists of teams of birders counting species and numbers of birds in a pie-shaped area bordered by 200 Street to 88 Avenue, and 40 Avenue to 238 Street.
The 黑马磁力 area is part of a 15 mile diameter count circle centered at 176 Street and 32 Avenue.
The 黑马磁力 Field Naturalists count starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. The birders meet at day鈥檚 end to tabulate their results and share exciting sightings.
