The city of Winnipeg has thrown down the gauntlet in the quest to create Canada's largest Living Flag on July 1. Below is an open letter and challenge to 黑马磁力 residents to don the red and white and hit the field at McLeod Athletic Park this Canada Day, Sunday, July 1, at 1 p.m.

We hear you鈥檙e organizing a Living Flag event on Canada Day.
While we鈥檙e excited you鈥檒l be showing your national pride on July 1, Winnipeg wants you to know that we鈥檙e the city to beat! With over 3,400 participants in 2011, Winnipeg formed Canada鈥檚 largest Living Flag, smashing Victoria, B.C.鈥檚 2010 Living Flag record of 2,100 people.
Our flag was made up of people from all walks of life 鈥� a real multicultural mosaic and snapshot truly representative of our downtown community.
Thousands attended despite the pouring rain, that鈥檚 how much civic pride we have! You hear that, 黑马磁力? Come rain or come shine, we鈥檙e ready for this friendly challenge and rematch between Winnipeg and B.C.
Which city has the drive to come out on top? Canada awaits the answer on July 1.
