Early voting opportunities in ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦

Advance voting has begun and local citizens can cast their ballots.

General voting day is drawing closer, but there are opportunities to vote before that. Both ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City and Township are holding multiple advance polling opportunities in the community.

ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Township

ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Township’s advance polls began on Oct. 10, and continue with seven more opportunities:

• Thursday, Oct 11, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Fort ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ at the Riverside Community Amenity Room, 9275B Glover Rd.

• Friday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Walnut Grove at the Walnut Grove Recreation Centre, 8889 Walnut Grove Dr.

• Saturday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Willowbrook at the Township Civic Facility, 20338 65th Ave.

• Monday, Oct. 15 , 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Aldergrove at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre multipurpose room at 27032 Fraser Hwy.

• Tuesday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Murrayville at the W.C. Blair Recreation Centre, 22200 Fraser Hwy.

• Wednesday, Oct. 17, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Brookswood at the George Preston Recreation Centre, 20699 42 Ave. Room C.

• Thursday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Trinity Western University, 7600 Glover Rd., David E. Enarson Gymnasium.

There are 14 voting places in ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Township on general voting day on Oct. 20. All of them will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City

ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City’s advance polls are all held at the Timms Community Centre, located at 20399 Douglas Cres.

Advance voting in the City began on Oct. 9 and 10, and continues with two more polls:

• Oct. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ City’s general voting takes place at Nicomekl Elementary at 20050 53rd Ave. on Oct. 20, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To see the candidates in person, there are still three major all-candidates meetings coming up:

• Thursday, Oct. 11 the Willoughby Residents Association will host an all-candidates meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Valley Church auditorium at 20097 72nd Ave. A suggested donation of $5 is requested for entry.

• On Friday, Oct. 12, the the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Seniors Community Action Table has organized a ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Township all-candidates meeting at the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Seniors Centre Resource Centre from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 16 the Greater ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Chamber of Commerce hosts a debate, open to all six mayoral candidates for City and Township, as part of the chamber’s dinner meeting at the Cascades Casino, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets available from chamber.
