Surrey RCMP have confirmed they are investigating a report of sexual interference at a local pool facility.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, police responded to a report of sexual interference at a community recreation centre located in the area of the 16800-block of 24 Avenue, Surrey RCMP said in an emailed statement.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 21-year-old man had allegedly kissed a female teen.
The male suspect was arrested at the scene and released on conditions to refrain from attending the community centre and not have any direct or indirect contact with the victim, RCMP Sgt. Tammy Lobb noted in the email. The investigation continues.
The Saturday incident is not linked to a at the same facility, say RCMP.
Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit is leading that investigation, and it is an active, ongoing investigation, Lobb said.
