Four provincial champions were crowned this weekend as the 2025 BC Lacrosse Association Co-Ed U15 Minor Box Lacrosse Provincial Championships wrapped up Sunday afternoon, July 13, at ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Events Centre.
The four-day event – held July 10 to 13 – featured top U15 teams from across British Columbia competing in four divisions: A1, A2, B, and C.
Each division concluded with a gold medal game to determine the provincial champion.
Division A1
After dropping their tournament opener, the Ridge Meadows Burrards responded in dominant fashion, winning the rest of their games to claim the A1 gold medal with a 6-4 victory over the Coquitlam Adanacs.
Down 1-0 after the first period in the championship final, the Burrards erupted for five unanswered goals in the middle frame to take control. Ethan Bay led the way with two goals and an assist, while Daxton Lowe matched his three-point effort with a goal and two helpers. Liam O’Connor, Benjamin Beitel, and Ali Foreman also found the back of the net.
Coquitlam was led by Kellen Wilkins’ pair of goals, with Jonah Hong and Chase Wiseman each recording a goal and an assist.
Ridge Meadows finished atop their pool at 2-1, posting back-to-back shutouts after an opening loss.
They advanced to the final with a 7-2 semi-final win over Nanaimo. Coquitlam punched their ticket to the championship by defeating ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ – the only team to beat Ridge Meadows during the tournament – 7-4 in the other semi-final.
ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ claimed the bronze medal with a narrow 6-5 victory over Nanaimo.
Division A2
A five-goal first period set the tone early as the Port Coquitlam Saints cruised to the A2 provincial final.
The Saints scored five times in the opening 20 minutes on their way to a 12-3 win over Saanich.
Brandon Miller (2-2) and Adam Larsen (1-3) each had four-point games, with Jaymie Peragine chipping in with two goals and a helper.
Blake Boddy (1-10, Hunter Darling (1-1), Nolan Jorgenson, Dominic Biglow, Mitchell Wilson, Josh Neufeld. and Blair McKenzie added a goal apiece.
Nixon Bradely scored twice for Saanich with Lucas Barillaro adding the other.
The Saints were a perfect 5-0 at the championships, outscoring their opponents 46-16.
In the bronze-medal game, Ridge Meadows was a 16-4 winner over North Shore.
Division B
Graysen Arcuri was the overtime hero as the Penticton Heat defeated the Ridge Meadows Burrards 5-4 to win provincial gold in the B Division.
Ahead 3-2 after 40 minutes, the Heat found themselves down by a goal late in the third perid, before Leighton Barber tied things up with 2:18 to play, setting the stages for Arcuri’s heroics.
Grayson Austen finished with a hat trick for Penticton, while Luke Hastings had a pair of goals with Millan Bradford and Liam Komaromi scoring once apiece for Ridge Meadows.
Each team won its respective pools with 3-0 records before Penticton defeated Peninsula 6-4 in one semi-final, while Ridge Meadows was a 9-2 winner over Vancouver.
In the bronze-medal game, Peninsula edged Vancouver 6-5.
Division C
The Sunshine Coast Rapids capped off a dominating four days with a decisive 10-1 victory over the Ridge Meadows Burrards in the C Championship final.
James Cuthbertson, Noah Murawsky, Oliver McTaggart, and Jackson Arseneau each had two goal games with Luka Orescanin and Logan Bach adding a goal apiece.
Carter Short had the lone tally for the Burrards.
The Rapids went a perfect 5-0 at the championships, outscoring their opponents 52-7 and only once allowing more than a single goal.
In the bronze medal game, it was Chilliwack defeating Surrey/Semiahmoo 13-9.
About the championships
The U15 Co-Ed Minor Box Lacrosse Provincial Championships brought together 26 teams from across the province, offering an opportunity for young athletes to compete at the highest level of their age group.
Hosted at ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Events Centre, the event was part of a full slate of provincial tournaments coordinated by BC Lacrosse Association during the 2025 summer season.
