Port Moody police seized a replica gun and bear spray after searching a youth that was part of a group threatening another teen.
Police were called to the Port Moody Recreation Complex on July 21 at 8 p.m. after a report of a youth brandishing a firearm, according to a Tuesday (July 22) from Port Moody Police Department. Police found four youth exiting the complex and officers arrested the four suspects who were taken into custody.
Police said that officers found a replica gun and bear spray during a search of one of the youth.
鈥淭hese replica firearms present a significant risk to public safety and can elicit a heavy police response,鈥� Const. Sam Zacharias said.
Criminal charges are being recommended following the the incident as police investigation continues.
