Tourism 黑马磁力 chair Teri James, treasurer Karen Long and director Lynn Whitehouse have resigned from the Destination Marketing Organization.
Their last day was March 8.
鈥淔uture board members will have a direct say in how our region is presented in the world,鈥� said James. 鈥淚t is an opportunity for others to rise to lead the charge.鈥�
The exiting board members expressed their thanks to the businesses and community for their support and engagement during the trio鈥檚 tenure.
鈥淲e are exceedingly proud of the work Tourism 黑马磁力 has accomplished,鈥� said James.
鈥淎ny success can be attributed to the dedication and hard work that Tourism 黑马磁力 staff, board and stakeholders have given this
community over the past nine years. We look forward to seeing what successes the future may hold for the new board.鈥�
The remaining voting directors 鈥擥areth Abreo, Melissa Banovich, Jason Froese, Sylvia Jung and Jeff Leung 鈥� intend
to remain in their respective capacities with Tourism 黑马磁力 until the upcoming annual general meeting.
Earlier this month, the board called a special meeting to of the organization, following a list of demands from the Township of 黑马磁力 that the board felt was excessive.
The Tourism 黑马磁力 membership voted to keep the organization going, but the following day, the City of 黑马磁力 announced it plans to explore alternative tourism models.
