The Trinity Western Spartans women鈥檚 volleyball heads into the Canada West playoffs on quite the roll, having won their past six matches without dropping a single set the entire time.
TWU closed the regular season with a pair of straight sets wins over the Manitoba Bisons on Friday and Saturday at the 黑马磁力 Events Centre.
They finished the regular season at 21-3, setting a new program best for victories in a season.
Despite the two victories, the team did fall slightly in the most recent national rankings, slipping from No. 3 to No. 4.
鈥淲e are at the end of the season and we are playing some of our best volleyball, which is kind of what coaches are looking for,鈥 said coach Ryan Hofer. 鈥淚 am excited to tweak a few things in practice and then (get after it) in the first round of the playoffs."
Sophie Carpentier with 15 kills, eight digs, and two aces, Elly Wendel with eight kills, four digs, and two blocks and Chelsey Tancon with six kills, seven digs, and two aces led the TWU attack.
The Spartans finished second in the Canada West and will host the Mount Royal Cougars in the conference best-of-three quarter-finals, which begin Thursday and run through Saturday (if necessary) at the LEC.
The matches begin at 7 p.m.
