A 黑马磁力 product and former Chilliwack Chief will be playing big-league hockey a lot closer to home this fall.
The expansion Seattle Kraken plucked Dennis Cholowski from the roster of the National Hockey League鈥檚 Detroit Red Wings in last week鈥檚 expansion draft, ending his three-year stay in Motown.
The 23-year-old was a first round pick of Detroit, 20th overall, in the 2006 NHL entry draft.
He debuted in 2018-19, collecting seven goals and 16 points in 52 games. Over the next two seasons, Cholowski managed three goals and 11 points in 52 outings,while also spending time with Detroit鈥檚 American Hockey League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Cholowski was a combined -47 over his three campaigns in Detroit.
In Seattle, he鈥檒l be part of a blueline crew that features former Calgary Flame Mark Giordano, former St. Louis Blue Vince Dunn and free agent signee Adam Larsson. Seattle currently lists 11 defencemen on the roster, which can be viewed online at .
