Mountain Eagles’ Jarrett Jacobs was named a third team all-star after helping his team to an eighth-place finish at the B.C. junior boys provincial basketball championships at the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Events Centre. The Eagles went 2-2 over the four-day tournament which ran Saturday to Tuesday.
Mountain, which had entered as the fifth seed, beat Dover Bay 52-46 in their opener and then made the quarter-finals with a 50-37 over the Charles Hays Rainmakers.
The Eagles were grounded in their next game however, losing 60-53 to Okanagan Mission.
They then lost 69-55 to Pitt Meadows.
Two other ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ teams were also competing with the Walnut Grove Gators going 1-3 and the Brookswood Bobcats finishing 0-4.
The Gators lone win came in their third game as they defeated Duchess Park 58-49 and after that, Walnut Grove fell 71-66 to Richmond.
In their first two games, the Gators fell 65-48 to St. George’s and 50-46 to Terry Fox.
The Bobcats lost 62-32 to West Vancouver, 45-42 to Dover Bay, 57-35 to Lambrick Park and 45-40 to Duchess Park.
