After back-to-back shutout losses the weekend before, the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds offence got back on track.

The Thunderbirds travelled to Shawnigan Lake, defeating the South Island Royals by scores of 5-2 and 4-1 to improve to 18-10-3-1 and fourth place in the BC Major Midget Hockey League.

Fraser Valley trailed 2-1 after one in the opener but tallied twice in the second and twice more in the third.

Justin Plett (two goals, one assist) and Brodi Stuart (one goal, two assists) paced the offence with three points apiece while Dawson Penner and Justin Hargrave had the other goals.

Boston Bilous earned the victory.

Sunday鈥檚 rematch saw Fraser Valley race out to a 4-0 lead before a late Royals goal ruined Chad Cromar鈥檚 shutout bid.

Blake Bonnar, Hargrave, Dylan Debruyn and Jake Mulder had the T-Birds goals while Andrew Sorenson and Matthew Dyck each finished with a pair of assists.

The Thunderbirds return to action this weekend with a pair of games in Kamloops against the Thompson Blazers.
