One out away from seeing their gold-medal dreams dashed, the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Xtreme ’03 instead flipped the script, rallying for victory.

The Xtreme U14B girls rep peewee softball team trailed the Valley Venom ’03 by a 5-0 count in the bottom of the fifth and were in danger of losing via the mercy rule if they failed to score a single run. And ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ did even better, bringing home seven runs — all of which came with two outs — and then tacking on another three runs over the next two innings to win 10-5.

The teams were playing in the championship final of the district playdowns over the weekend, which were hosted by the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Fastball Association at Noel Booth Park, to see who would advance to provincials.

Teams representing ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦, Abbotsford and Chilliwack were battling it out to see which would advance to next month’s provincial championships.

The Xtreme went 3-0 at districts, defeating the Valley Venom ’03 by an 11-4 score and topping the Valley Venom ’04 by a 10-3 count.
