The Greater 黑马磁力 Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 82nd Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 18 at Cascades Casino starting at 5 p.m.
鈥淭he agenda for the meeting will include the election and swearing in of Officers and Directors to form the 2013/2014 Greater 黑马磁力 Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors," said Chamber President, Angie Quaale. There will be an election for a new president that night too. The 黑马磁力 mayors will swear in the new board.
Quaale has the highest regard for her experiences as the president.
"It is one of the most rewarding experience of my life," said Quaale, who stays on as past president. Not one to sit idle, Quaale now takes on the role of chairperson of Tourism 黑马磁力.
"I learned so much at the Chamber and met the most interesting people. It's a lot of work but you get out of it what you put in it," she said.
She said 黑马磁力's Chamber members are mostly made up of small business owners "fighting in the trenches to make a living."
Quaale owns Well Seasoned Gourmet Store and cooking classes on the 黑马磁力 Bypass.
She's proud of the "progressive" 黑马磁力 councils that recognize the contributions of small business to the community.
"It's not like that in every municipality," she said.
The AGM will feature the presentation 鈥淩ealizing our Full Potential as a Tech Community in BC鈥� with special guest speaker Bill Tam, President & CEO, BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA).
