Three female suspects in their early 20s have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in North Vancouver early Saturday morning.

The North Vancouver RCMP responded to a report of "a distraught female" near the Lonsdale Quay bus loop at around 2:45 a.m. Officers located a woman who "had had injuries consistent with being assaulted with an edged weapon," read a North Vancouver RCMP press release Saturday.

Police located two more women on the second floor above the bus loop who had similar injuries.

"It鈥檚 alleged that the three females were involved in a dispute, and an assault occurred. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public currently," police added.

The women were taken into police custody for the alleged assaults, and two of them were transported to the hospital "with injuries ranging from minor to serious."

鈥淎s the investigation is in its very early stages, there are a lot of unanswered questions that police are seeking answers for,鈥 said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. 鈥淲hat we do know is that there was a dispute between the parties, who were known to each other, before the alleged assault occurred.鈥

Anyone who has not yet spoken to the police and witnessed the incident is asked to call the police at 604-985-1311 and quote file #25-15578.
