On their quest to continue to give back to the community that has supported them over the last decade, Milestones 黑马磁力 has once again held a successful Autism Awareness Night for the second year in a row.
Raising $4,000 at their dinner and silent auction on May 7, the restaurant has now given more than $26,000 to local charities through a variety of events.
鈥淲e鈥檝e been doing this for over two years now and over those two years we鈥檝e built such a connection with our community through these events and have made such an impact,鈥� said Jaivin Khatri, manager of guest experience.
鈥淚t makes me proud. It makes me proud of my job and of what I do to know we鈥檙e making a difference.鈥�
All of the staff donated their gratuities from the night to the Fraser Valley Autism Society, and patrons were treated to a special opera performance by one special staff member, Kari Culjat, who recently won the 黑马磁力 Has Talent competition.
Khatri now challenges other restaurants and businesses in 黑马磁力 to host similar events. After the success of their charity dinners, he has seen first hand how a little effort on their part can make a big different in the community.
鈥淚f everyone did this, think of how much better off we would all be,鈥� he said.
