'In Grief Together' is a new teen support group for those grieving a loss of someone in Chilliwack.
The drop-in sessions will be on the first Tuesday afternoon of the month, specifically geared to providing peer support for teens aged 14 to 18.
Hosted by Chilliwack Hospice Society and facilitated by their Child and Youth Program Managers, Kaylee Lovesy and April Girgis, this group offers a safe, relaxed space to connect with others who just get it, according to the release from Chilliwack Hospice Society.
"Whether you want to talk, listen, or simply be around others who understand what grief feels like, this group is here for you.
"There’s no pressure and no need to sign up — just come as you are."
Teens are also welcome to bring a safe person with them if they would rather not attend on their own.
The location for In Grief Together is at the Chilliwack Hospice Society offices, 7112 Vedder Road.
"This program is provided free of cost thanks to the generosity of individual donors and businesses in our community."
The first session is Aug. 5, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with no registration required.
