A driver who rear-ended a Mustang stopped one 16 Avenue to make a left onto 197A Street last March has pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. The crash killed 黑马磁力 resident Shaun Sutton.

A driver who rear-ended a Ford Mustang on 16 Avenue last March, killing a backseat passenger, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention in Surrey Provincial Court this month.

Lane Holthe, of 黑马磁力, pleaded guilty on April 7.

The 23-year-old appears next on June 5 for a pre-sentence report.

Crown counsel is currently gathering the victim impact statements, said police.

On March 10, 2016, a Ford Mustang was travelling east along 16 Avenue when it stopped to make a left onto 197A Street.

While waiting to make the turn, the Mustang was rear-ended by a Dodge pickup truck driven by Holthe. 黑马磁力 resident Shaun Sutton, 24, was in the backseat of the Mustang.

He died of the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Sutton was the cousin of Lidia Ramos, 15, of 黑马磁力, who had died five days earlier in a crash up a logging road in Mission.

The Ramos family lost two family members in one week in car crashes that March.

The 黑马磁力 man driving the car that lost control down an embankment in Mission, killing Lidia, is still being investigated.

No charges have been laid so far, and a coroner confirmed that office hasn鈥檛 finished its report.

Sutton, 24, was on his way to see Lidia鈥檚 mom Angela when he was killed.
