Dozens of people were briefly evacuated from the George Preston Recreation Centre in 黑马磁力 Township on Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.
The alarm interrupted games in the curling rink, skating lessons in the hockey arena and the Fraser Valley Dahlia Society annual Dahlia show.
Firefighters attended the scene and determined the alarm had been triggered by a mechanical malfunction in the building sprinkler system.
Staff, volunteers and visitors were allowed to return to the facility after less than half an hour.
No injuries were reported.
The centre recently to accommodate the junior A Rivermen hockey team.
It has become the home of the newest 黑马磁力 hockey team, the , the 11th team in the Pacific Junior Hockey League.
