Back-to-back shutouts helped the 黑马磁力 Blaze take a big step towards securing second place, if not better.

The Blaze entered Monday鈥檚 doubleheader a half-game behind their opponent, the Victoria Mariners, for second spot but 黑马磁力 now holds a 1.5 game advantage with three games to play in the BC Premier Baseball League regular season.

黑马磁力 won 4-0 in game one and followed that up with a 10-0 victory at McLeod Athletic Park and the team has now won six of their past seven games after .

Danny Berg was masterful in the opener, allowing just three hits over the seven innings for the victory. He also had an RBI.

黑马磁力 was leading 1-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning when Ethan Gray belted a bases-clearing triple, scoring Cole Cantelon, Michael Stovman and Rhys Cratty.

Game two saw 黑马磁力 strike quickly and often, with three runs in both the first and second innings and then another four in the third in what became a 10-0 rout.

Kyle Prather allowed just two hits in the five innings while Berg drove in another three runs.

Gus Wilson, Stovman, Daniel Martin, Dawson Gray and Jayden Knight had an RBI apiece.

黑马磁力 is back in action on July 10 when they host the first-place North Shore Twins (29-9) in a doubleheader at McLeod Athletic Park with games at 1 and 3 p.m.

They close the regular season on July 11 when they visit Mackie Park to face the North Delta Blue Jays.

黑马磁力 will host a best-of-three BCPBL quarter-final series on July 15 and 16.
