Trailing by two goals with 20 minutes to play, the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Thunder took charge in the third period.

The senior A lacrosse team struck for six goals, erasing a 3-1 deficit and defeating the Coquitlam Adanacs 7-5 on Wednesday night at the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Events Centre.

The victory was huge as it clinches a Western Lacrosse Association playoff berth for the Thunder.

Heading into Saturday's (July 30) regular season finale at Coquitlam, ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ (8-7-2)  sits third in the seven-team league with 18 points. They still have a shot at second place although they currently trail Victoria (9-5-2) by two points, but ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ does hold the tiebreaker.

In Wednesday's game, Coquitlam — which had won back-to-back games to climb back into the playoff picture — scored the only two goals of the opening period and then extended the lead to 3-0 midway through the second.

But Dan Williams unassisted marker finally got the Thunder on the board, and then  seven seconds into the final period, Rob Van Beek had ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ within a goal.

Ian Poole tied things up shortly after, and then even after the A's retook the lead, ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ kept coming.

Alex Turner and Mike Grimes scored 1:16 apart to give ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ its first lead and Kyle Belton and Van Beek added late scores.

The Thunder finished their home schedule with a 7-2 record.
