The ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Jr. Thunder kept things close, but could not pull out the victory.

The junior A lacrosse team hosted the Victoria Jr. Shamrocks on Sunday at the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Events Centre, falling 7-5 to the island visitors.

Reegan Comeault scored twice and assisted on another pair, while Nick Stone had a goal and two assists.

Kevin Lemond and Colton Porter had the other ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ goals.

The Thunder were also in action last Thursday, hosting the top-ranked team in Canada, the Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs.

ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ kept things close for the opening 20 minutes before Coquitlam exploded for eight goals in the middle period. The end result was a 14-5 victory for the visitors.

Dylan Quinn, with two goals, and Comeault, with a goal and three assists, paced the Thunder offence.

Sean Lundstrom and Adam Will chipped in with a goal and an assist apiece and James Rahe had a pair of helpers.

The losses drop the Thunder to 5-10 in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League standings. Victoria improved to 10-4.

ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ looks to return to the win column on Thursday (June 23) when they welcome the Nanaimo Jr. Timbermen (5-9) to the ºÚÂí´ÅÁ¦ Events Centre.
