Devon Chescoe, 10, has held an annual fundraiser for the Village of Hope in Zambia since he was four years old.
At the age of four, he thought about whether the children at the Village of Hope got a turkey dinner for Christmas. He thought that his family should have a party to raise money, so that they too could enjoy a Christmas dinner.
Each December, his fundraiser has grown larger and his friends and their families have continued to be very supportive of his efforts. This month, Devon and his family will be travelling to Zambia. He will be running a soccer camp for the children.
Devon and his sister Kienna decided to have an African birthday party, in lieu of a traditional party, for their June birthdays. The children and families who attended brought various items for the children, youth and mothers at the orphanage.
The party guests then packed more than 100 gift bags that Devon and Kienna will distribute to all the children and mothers at the orphanage.
The generosity of all these families and children giving to children across the globe was inspiring.
