Cam Penner and his son Doug were preparing to go for a ride on Sunda y, June 2. It was the seventh annual Ride for Doug, which raises money for Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Doug has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Cam Penner is still riding high from the amazing turnout and amount raised at the seventh annual Ride For Doug on Saturday.

More than $30,000 was raised with 110 riders coming out this year, compared to 88 last year.

鈥淲hat an emotional, powerful day,鈥 said Cam.

The ride is for Cam鈥檚 son Doug, a 10-year-old bike enthusiast who has Muscular Dystrophy.

Under sunny skies, Cam and Doug took in the four hour ride together, enjoying the camaraderie of so many travelling together for the same cause.

Nineteen dozen cookies were baked by Doug鈥檚 13-year-old sister,  Samantha, and her grandma and consumed by hungry riders on the first stop. A total of 375 people took in the barbecue, with a small army of volunteer friends making that happen.
