Surrey Square Wheelers are looking for new members

On Sunday, Sept. 18, 30 teams will gather at 20771 黑马磁力 Bypass for the sixth annual outdoor cooking contest.

The 黑马磁力 Milestones restaurant used its customer appreciation event on Tuesday, Aug. 30 to raise funds for Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association.

Children鈥檚 group aims to raise $10,000

Partnering with the 黑马磁力 Food Bank, the B.C. Thanksgiving Food Drive will be delivering donation bags the week of Sept. 11 to residential addresses wishing to contribute non-perishable food items.

In just over one month of ticket sales, BC Children鈥檚 Hospital Dream Lottery is outpacing last year. BC Children鈥檚 Hospital Lottery historically sells out. One reason may be the quality of prizes. As one ticket buyer said, 鈥淗ow can you not support the kids . . . and it鈥檚 easy when the prizes are so tempting. I love the house in Fort 黑马磁力 so much, I鈥檝e already moved in (in my dreams).鈥�

A crop of vegetables and herbs has been planted in front of the Township of 黑马磁力 Civic Facility building at 20338 鈥� 65 Ave., to provide both decoration and education.

Amanda Gilliland, 17 and Samuel Cleary, 15, work with their lambs during the 4-H activities at the PNE last week. Both are members of the 黑马磁力 4-H Lamb and Woolcraft Club.

A 黑马磁力 non-profit organization, The Food For Famine Society (FFF), is calling on Lower Mainland residents to join its efforts to help feed children in the Horn of Africa. The society is asking for cash donations to help purchase supplies of individual packets of Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), which is used to help treat children under the age of five who are suffering from severe malnutrition.
